Vice Prime Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan discuss in Osh border issues

Bishkek, Jan. 16 / Kabar /. Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zhenish Razakov today, on January 16 met in Osh with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, the Kyrgyz government’s press service reports.

The sides discussed the issues of delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border.

Vice Prime Minister Zhenish Razakov stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation and strengthening good-neighborly relations between the countries.

He also stressed the need for early agreement on the remaining positions of unspecified sites, and successful completion of the joint work on the delimitation and demarcation of the state border.

The meeting is held on the basis of the agreements reached between the leaders of two countries during the visit of Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev to Uzbekistan in December 2016.

Negotiations on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border will be continued tomorrow, on 17 January.
