Kyrgyz Parliament develops a bill offering to pay benefits to newborns

Bishkek, Jan. 9 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz Parliament members submittd for public discussion a draft law on the payment of benefits to babies from 30 thousand to 50 thousand soms. The bill appeared on the website of the Jogorku Kenesh, the initiator is the MP Dastan Zhumabekov.

"The draft law provides for paying child beneift to newborns in the amount of 30 thousand to 50 thousand soms during one year. This will include, without exception, all newborn babies, without determining the total income of family members and without dividing citizens on the social strata," the MP said.

The MP cited data from the National Statistics Committee, which says that 155 thousand 520 children were born in 2013, of which 3 died 96 thousand children under the age of 1 year.

He said that some of the citizens of Kyrgyzstan go to give birth to their children in the Russian Federation in order to receive "maternity capital". Children born on the territory of Russia, become citizens of this country.
