Kyrgyz movie "Father's Will" nominated to the Russian film award "Nika"

Bishkek, December 30 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz movie "Father's Will" is nominated for "Nika" film award of the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Sciences in the category "Best film of the CIS." This decision was taken at a meeting of the new board of the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Union reports.

The film tells about a young man, Azat, who brings to Kyrgyzstan a body and the will of his father, who during the collapse of the Soviet Union owed a lot of money and fled to the United States, but have always wanted to be buried in the land of his ancestors. After paying off the debts of the parent, Azat meets with friends and witnesses of different situations. He rediscoveres his hometown.

Earlier, the film won the main prize of the international film festival "Golden Meredian" in Montreal (Canada).

At the international film festival "Eurasia" in Almaty, the film won the statuette "Tulpar" as the best film of 2016 in Central Asia.

The picture is also included in the long list of "Oscar" along with other 84 films from around the world, but couldn’t got in the short list of contenders for the award.
