State Agency for Interethnic Relations and Local Self-government and Aga Khan Foundation in Kyrgyzstan sign MOC

Bishkek, December 26 / Kabar /. The State Agency for Local Self-Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations of Kyrgyzstan and the branch of the Aga Khan Foundation in Kyrgyzstan signed on December 23 a Memorandum of cooperation to enhance mutual cooperation and coordination of efforts in the field of development of local self-government in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Under the Memorandum the Fund will support the Agency to improve and strengthen the capacity of local government in Kyrgyzstan.

The two sides expressed their interest and intention to cooperate on the following directions:

- Collaboration in the development of strategic documents for the development of local self-government;

- Joint planning and implementation of infrastructure and social projects;

- The improvement and support of initiatives of local government and civil society institutions;

- Joint organization of public events and mutual assistance to each other to participate in similar activities;

- Mutual organizational, informational, technical assistance in carrying out various activities.

The memorandum was signed by Director of the State Agency for Local Self-Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic Dzhumagul Egamberdieva and Jalaluddin Shah, Chief Executive Officer, the Aga Khan Foundation in Kyrgyzstan.
