Kyrgyzstan adopts the Korean experience on village development

Bishkek, December 16 / Kabar /. Bishkek hosts seminar on promotion of Korean experience of mutual assistance "Semayl Undong" (new village) in villages of Kyrgyzstan with participation of the State Agency for Local Self-Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Korean delegation.

The event was attended by representatives of State Agency for Local Self-Government, representatives from the Korean side and village leaders.

Director of the State Agency for Local Self-Government Dzhumagul Egamberdieva said that a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the State Agency for Local Self-Government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Korea. Within the framework of this memorandum, a Korean delegation has arrived in Kyrgyzstan, which will tell in detail and share their experiences on "Semayl Undong".

"This project is promoting the spread of Korean experience "Semayl Undong" in Kyrgyzstan. We have the similar popular movement "Ashar", that is, when people are willing to assist their village. We want to unite these methods and improve," she said.

In addition, Egamberdieva also said that today 10 projects of the pilot villages in Kyrgyzstan will be presented to the representatives of the Korean side. "Five projects will be selected out of them and the Korean side will allocate 10 thousand dollars to each of the selected project," she said.

In turn, professor of the Academy of Korean Studies Han Do Hyun Before said that they are ready to assist the Kyrgyz villages. "If all goes well and they will be able to show a good job, then in 2017 Korea can completely choose Kyrgyzstan as a pilot program,” he said.
