Seven-day round the clock Manac epic narration kicks off in Bishkek

Bishkek, November 29 / Kabar /. Seven-day, round the clock narration of Manas epic has started on November 27 in Supara ethno-complex in Bishkek, the press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

Known Manas narrators have began to retell the Manas epic. The narration will last continuously day and night, and Manas narrators will tell the epic one by one.

The event will be resulted in solemn event on December 4 at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic timed to the Day of the Manas epic.

Manas is a traditional epic poem dating to the 18th century but claimed by the Kyrgyz people to be much older.

Manas is the classic centerpiece of Kyrgyz literature, and parts of it are often recited at Kyrgyz festivities by specialists in the epic, called Manaschi (Manas narrator).

Manas has been translated into many languages.
