Kyrgyz scientists take part in Symposium on cultural heritage of Central Asian countries in Tokyo

Bishkek, June 23 / Kabar /. The symposium on cultural heritage of Central Asian countries, organized by the Japan Foundation, is held in Tokyo for the first time.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that, the forum was attended by delegations from all the countries of Central Asia, the leading Japanese experts and institutions involved in the implementation of the historical-cultural and cultural-humanitarian projects in Central Asia.

The Kyrgyz delegation headed by president of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Abdygany Erkebaev informed the participants of the Symposium on the joint archaeological study of three settlements Chui Valley - Red River, Ak-Beshim and Burana with the Japanese side. Thanks to an in-depth study of cultural monuments, with the financial and expert support of the Japan National Research Institute for Cultural Properties, the above-mentioned objects were included in 2014 in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage under the category "Silk Road": Initial Section and the Routes Network of Tian-shan corridor". The particular attention was paid to the heroic Manas epic, which is the main monument of oral national creativity of the Kyrgyz people and also included in the list of UNESCO.
