Bishkek, July 30 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Dzhomart Otorbaev today received a delegation of Google Inc. Corporation headed by Director of Google Ukraine Oleg Yakymchuk.

During the meeting, members of the company presented the Prime Minister an innovative project “Street View in the Kyrgyz Republic” aimed at a broad demonstration of sightseeing of the country in Internet through the placing objects on a map and provide 3D-images.

At the beginning of the meeting Otorbaev noted that the launching of the project will attract additional interest in the country, including potential tourists.

"We position our country as open to tourists. Tourism is the strategic direction of the economy. About 3 million people visit Kyrgyzstan annually. The flow of tourists has increased after introducing visa-free regime for 44 countries two years ago. "Street View" - is the most powerful marketing tool of the country. We welcome the initiative by Google to improve the tourist attraction of the country and will contribute to the successful implementation of the project," said Dzh. Otorbaev.

During the meeting, an agreement was reached on the early launch of a joint project, which will be coordinated by the Department of Tourism at the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism. The Prime Minister also requested to expand the list of attractions that will be included in the project.

Employees of Google, in turn, stressed that a similar project was implemented in 56 countries, while in the CIS - in Russia and partly in Ukraine.

Project “Street View” is a window into the world. Many have heard about Kyrgyzstan, but unfortunately, few people attended. Project will allow to see the amazing places of the country, to familiarize with its life, nature and attractions, " said Yakimchuk.

Further, the sides discussed the possibility of introducing other projects, including the safety of children online by creating special filters and informing parents and school teachers about possible threats of "unfair Internet," including in the Kyrgyz language.

Besides, implementation of the project on digital literacy for students, small and medium-sized businesses and public officials to improve their skills is planned in future.
