National Institute of Strategic Research and Chinese Academy of Contemporary International Relations discussed bilateral cooperation

 Bishkek, July 1 / Kabar /. Director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies (NISI) of the KR Talant Sultanov met today with a delegation from the Chinese Academy of Contemporary International Relations (CACIR).

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation, the press service of the National Institute for Strategic Studies reports.
Sultanov told the Chinese delegation about the activities of the National Institute. "China is a major trading partner and major investor of Kyrgyzstan, the level of cooperation between the two countries has been raised to the level of strategic partnership," he said.

From his part Vice President Feng Junpin noted that partnership relations were established between NISI and CACIR and now the Academy wants to restore relationship.

During the meeting they discussed issues of cooperation between NISI and CACIR and the overall situation in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia; influence of the situation in Afghanistan on security in Central Asia; Chinese initiative "Economic Zone Silk Road" and the bilateral economic cooperation between China and the Kyrgyz Republic.

Also, the Chinese side proposed the idea of close cooperation between institutions in order to develop proposals for the governments of both countries on strengthening the Kyrgyz-Chinese relations.

Following the meeting, it was decided to make agree a draft Memorandum of Cooperation between NISI and CACIR.
