Temir Sariev visits the University of Central Asia in Naryn

Bishkek, August 17 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev during his working trip to Naryn oblast became acquainted with the construction of the University of Central Asia. The Kyrgyz Government’s press office reports.

The Prime Minister noted that the university has a great strategic contribution to the development not only of Naryn region, but the whole of Kyrgyzstan.

Director General of the University of Central Asia Bogdan Kravchenko said that the construction of the university in a remote and less developed region, unlike the capital of Kyrgyzstan, was not a coincidence, but part of the philosophy of the Aga Khan Foundation, the initiator of the UCA project.

"We are building an academic town, remote from the capital. This is our philosophy too. In Bishkek, there is a pretty good infrastructure, there are many opportunities to get good education. Our university - it's part of the project of economic development. It provides an innovative challenge to think about other cities as well, as potential centers of education, training and other issues, such as health care and others. Our task is to prepare young people to be competitive. We have here a good opportunity for the development of small and medium-sized businesses," said Kravchenko.

He also said that the university program has been developing according to international standards. The level of complexity of the university will be the same level as the University of Cambridge and the University of Massachusetts. Students will be involved in the academic process 24 hours a day.

In conclusion, Sariev stressed a well-researched strategic plan of the university. "I must say, on behalf of the Government and on my own behalf, that this program is well thought-out, " said the prime minister.
