Kyrgyz and Tajik emergency departments held the first joint meeting in Batken

Bishkek, June 5 / Kabar /. The first joint meeting of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan and the Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan has started today in Batken. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

Opening the first joint meeting of the boards, Kyrgyz Minister of Emergency Situation Kubatbek Boronov noted that development of cross-border cooperation is in particular importance in improving the joint response to emergency situations.

"Given the fact that Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are the neighboring states, ensuring security of life from cross-border natural and man-made disasters is very acute. The presence of common threats predetermines the need for active joint efforts for a timely response to natural and manmade disasters in taking complex preventive measures to reduce their extremely negative impact on the social and economic spheres, as well as the ecological balance in the region," said Boronov.

In turn, chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan Khayriddin Abdurahimov noted the importance of the event in the field of emergency management on borders.

The joint meeting is a practical step in implementation of the Agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on cooperation in the field of civil defense, emergency management, signed in 2013 in Bishkek.
