Skirmish between Kyrgyz and Tajik border guards in Batken

Bishkek, July 10 / Kabar /. A skirmish erupted in Batken oblast on 10 July, 2014 between border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The Public Relations Department of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

The skirmish between the border guards was provoked by unlawful actions of citizens of Tajikistan. 

Tajik citizens of about 30 people attempted to build a pipeline from Kyrgyzstan (river Karavshin) in Bedak village, enclave Vorukh (Tajikistan). 
"Kyrgyz border guards demanded to stop works in connection with the fact that the area is indescribable. In response citizens of Tajikistan stoned border guards Kyrgyzstan", the Border Service of the KR reports.

In order to prevent misconduct by Tajik citizens Kyrgyz border guards were forced to fire warning shots into the air. 

Meanwhile, the Tajik border guards, who were near the scene of the incident, opened fire on the Kyrgyz border guards. As a result, a short skirmish erupted between the border guards.

According to preliminary data, there are no wounded and injured among Kyrgyz border guards.
