Kyrgyzstan, Iran adopt cooperation program for 10 years

Bishkek, December 23 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan and Iran adopted a cooperation program between the countries until 2026, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev said after a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who is on an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.

President Atambayev said that the program will bring the cooperation between the two countries to a new level.

"An important result of the meeting was the decision to boost bilateral relations, primarily in the field of economy and for this purpose a visa-free regime should be introduced. The Foreign Ministry is instructed to make proposals to facilitate the visa regime for businessmen and tourists between our countries. Also, the membership in the EEU makes it possible to export goods duty-free. In addition, Kyrgyzstan has the GSP + preferences, allowing to export goods to Europe without duties. Therefore it is necessary to establish joint ventures in different sectors of the economy. We also create conditions for the development of logistics. In this regard, the opening of a direct flight between Bishkek and Tehran will be important. The sooner the issue is resolved on the visa-free regime, the faster will be a direct flight," he said.

Atambayev also said that the sides agreed to step up cooperation on Interaction threats of extremism and radicalism.
