Narendra Modi: "During the negotiations with Atambayev, we focused on deepening of bilateral relations in the field of defense"

New Delhi, December 20 / Kabar /. "During the talks with President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, we focused on general priorities, diversity and deepening of bilateral relations," Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi said at a meeting with journalists.

"President Atambayev and I were able to discuss a wide range of issues across the board. During the talks, we focused our attention on the deepening of bilateral relations. We discussed how we can work together to protect our youth and society against the common challenges of terrorism, extremism and radicalism. We agreed the need to work closely in dealing with these issues for the common good. We consider Kyrgyzstan as valuable partner in our common goal to make Central Asia sustainable to peace, stability and prosperity," said the Prime Minister.

Modi noted that the SCO provides a valuable platform to work on these issues. "We also discussed our joint defense cooperation," he said.
