Ombudsmen of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey sign Memorandum of Understanding

Bishkek, December 6 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz Ombudsman Kubat Otorbaev and Ombudsman of Turkey Muhmet Elkatmish signed in Istanbul on November 29 a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at establishing mutually beneficial cooperation, exchange of best practices in relation to public administration, as well as in the protection and promotion of human rights, the press service of the Ombudsman reports.

During the signing, the sides discussed issues of observance of the rights of migrant workers, who left both by his own will and who were forced. "The Agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey on visa-free regime between the two countries for citizens who visit Turkey for tourist, business or official purposes will come into force on February 10, 2012. In accordance with the legislation of Turkey, foreign nationals, including citizens of Kyrgyzstan can stay in Turkey without a 90-day visa. Those who wish to stay more than 90 days, must apply in advance to the regional migration department of the Ministry of Interior of Turkey for obtaining a residence permit," the press service said.

According to data of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, the number of citizens, who entered the territory of Turkey in 2016 made 25 thousand people.

The parties expressed their common view on the need to strengthen the role of national human rights institutions, giving them a greater institutional and legal status in accordance with international standards in line with a dynamic and stable development of society and the state.
