Abdyldaev takes part in Ministerial Conference of the member countries of the Istanbul process "Heart of Asia" in India

Bishkek, December 5 / Kabar /. The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Erlan Abdyldaev participated in the 6th Ministerial Conference of the member countries of the Istanbul process "Heart of Asia" on Afghanistan, which was held in Amritsar, India, on 3-4 December 2016, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

The delegations of the member countries of the Istanbul process discussed the issues of regional cooperation in the light of the situation in Afghanistan. As part of the theme "Discussion of challenges and achieving prosperity", a thorough exchange of views was held on the current situation in Afghanistan, on the prospects of national reconciliation and the restoration and further development of the country, including through the strengthening of regional security and cooperation. The head of the Kyrgyz delegation, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev in his speech said that, given the geopolitical importance of Afghanistan to the Central Asian countries, including the Kyrgyz Republic, the development of relations with the IRA is one of the priorities of the foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan and meets its national interests.

The 6th Ministerial Conference of the Istanbul process member countries "Heart of Asia" adopted the final document, "Amritsar Declaration", which expressed support for the implementation of a number of regional projects with the participation of Kyrgyzstan, including the CASA-1000.

As part of this conference, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev and other foreign ministers of the member countries of the Istanbul process.
