Kyrgyz Speaker meets with Chinese Ambassador

 Bishkek, November 29 / Kabar /. Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Chynybay Tursunbekov met today with Chinese Ambassador Xiao Qinghua, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reports.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues on expansion of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the fight against extremism and terrorism. Special attention was paid to the capacity of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The Kyrgyz Speaker congratulated Xiao Qinghua on his appointment as Ambassador and expressed confidence in his effective work aimed at developing and strengthening the Kyrgyz-Chinese partnership. Chynybay Tursunbekov noted that China is one of the important priorities of the foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan. 

Chynybay Turusunbekov said that Kyrgyzstan is interested in further enhancing cooperation in economic partnership. He thanked the Chinese leadership and people for their support in improving Kyrgyzstan’s infrastructure.

Tursunbekov added that inter-parliamentary cooperation has a special place in the bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China. Mutual parliamentary visits have been held successfully. He also informed his interlocutor that a Parliamentary Friendship Group with China is formed in the Jogorku Kenesh for deepening interparliamentary ties.

Xiao Qinghua stressed with satisfaction the high level of existing relations, which can be described as equal and good-neighborly and mutually beneficial. He assured that as the newly appointed Ambassador he would make maximum efforts to maintain and build a strategic partnership between the two countries. The Ambassador stressed that China is interested in new mutually beneficial joint projects.

The participants of the meeting touched upon topics resuming the work of the consular department of the Embassy of China, the possibility of the creation of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Fund and the delivery of Internet traffic from China.
