Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan and French Senator discuss cooperation prospects

Bishkek, November 29 / Kabar /. Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Oleg Pankratov and Chairman of the Group of Friendship "France-Kyrgyzstan" of the Senate of the French Republic Yves Pozzo di Borgo, discussed the state and prospects of the Kyrgyz-French cooperation, the Kyrgyz government’s press service reports.

The meeting was held yesterday in Paris during the visit of the Kyrgyz governmental delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Pankratov to France.

The delegation took part in the final review of the implementation of reforms aimed at improving the competitiveness of the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the Eurasian week program Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to improve the competitiveness of the countries of Eurasia.

Pankratov spoke about the ongoing reforms of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, aimed at improving the investment climate, creating MFN to do business, to attract investments in strategic sectors of the Kyrgyz economy.

"Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding cooperation with France in areas such as trade, innovation technologies, agriculture, processing industry, tourism. I am convinced that we can find many areas where we can cooperate in the interests of the peoples of the two countries," he said.

Following the meeting the sides agreed to organize a conference on the development of economic cooperation of Kyrgyzstan with regions of France in the first half of 2017.
