Kyrgyz MPs support the bill to conduct referendum to change the Constitution

Bishkek, November 2 / Kabar /. The deputies of the Kyrgyz Parliament approved today a bill to hold a referendum to change the Constitution.

Out of 105 MPs who were present at a session 90 voted for and 15 against the bill.

"The law is adopted," Speaker Chynybay Tursunbekov said.

Note that in late July of this year, deputies have submitted for public discussion a draft law to amend the Constitution through a referendum. In particular, changes are related to the president and prime minister and Kumtor gold deposit. According to the proposed amendments, crimes involving Kumtor would have no statute of limitations.

Recall that the parliament and the president have already signed a law on holding a referendum to amend the Constitution on 11 December 2016.
