Zheenbekov and SCO Secretary General Alimov discuss agenda of the SCO summit

 Bishkek, November 1 / Kabar /. Acting Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Zheenbekov met with Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Rashid Alimov, the Kyrgyz government’s press office reports.

The sides discussed issues relating to the activities of the SCO, as well as the agenda of the upcoming anniversary meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO Member States to be held on November 3 in Bishkek under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Sooronbay Zheenbekov stressed that Kyrgyzstan is preparing to the upcoming event with the responsibility and on behalf of the Government expressed his gratitude to the Secretariat of the Organization for the fruitful work in preparing for the meeting.

Rashid Alimov said that as one of the founders of the Organization, Kyrgyzstan was at the forefront of its formation, and made a great contribution to the strengthening of its authority in the international arena.

The Secretary General assured that the forthcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO member states in Bishkek will make a significant contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the participating countries, as well as a positive impact on further development of the organization.

"Kyrgyz side made a great work in the negotiations of the national focal points, which will undoubtedly have an impact on a substantial part of the SCO CHG meeting," said Rashid Alimov.

It was noted that the national coordinators focused their attention on issues such as the scientific and technological achievements of the SCO member states, cooperation in education, trade, banking system.

In addition, the SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov said that they are preparing the Concept of scientific and technical partnership of the SCO for signing. This document will be signed for the first time in the history of the Organization, and thus give a new impetus to the partnership of countries in the framework of the SCO.

About 10 documents will be signed at the forthcoming SCO CHG meeting in Bishkek.

All the heads of governments of the SCO member countries have confirmed their participation in the meeting. The observer countries, as well as representatives of international organizations such as the UN, the CIS and the CICA (Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia) also confirmed their participation.

SCO member states are: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and China.

Observer states of the SCO: the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Republic of Belarus, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mongolia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
