Kyrgyz delegation held several meetings with the leadership of the United Nations in New York City

Bishkek, October 13 / Kabar /. The Kyrgyz delegation headed by Deputy Chief of the President’s Office Mira Karybaeva during the visit to the UN headquarters in New York, met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman and UN Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenca.

During the meetings the United Nations was informed in detail about the current leadership of the political situation in the country and further steps to promote democratic reforms in Kyrgyzstan, the President’s press office reports.

The Kyrgyz delegation also held talks with Alexander Zuev, head of the UNDP Global Programme on prevention of violent extremism. A preliminary agreement is reached to start cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic under the new program.

The delegation of Kyrgyzstan also took part in an extended meeting with leaders and experts of the UN agencies. During the meeting, Karybaeva shared practical experience of peace-building in Kyrgyzstan, as well as ongoing democratic reforms in the country under the leadership of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Atambayev.
