 OHCHR ready to assist Kyrgyzstan in protection of human rights taking into account the priorities of the country

Bishkek, October 6 / Kabar /. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Dinara Kemelova yesterday met in Bishkek with Regional Representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Central Asia Ryszard Komenda, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

Kemelova congratulated Ryszard Komenda on his appointment to the high post and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and OHCHR. Noting the achievements of Kyrgyzstan in the field of protection of human rights, the First Deputy Minister of Kyrgyzstan emphasized that the Kyrgyz Government intends to develop in the country the protection of rights and freedoms of every citizen.

Ryszard Komenda confirmed the intention of OHCHR to continue to assist in the protection of human rights taking into account the priorities of Kyrgyzstan.

The sides discussed priority directions of cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic and OHCHR for 2017.
