Kyrgyz President meets with Deputy Assistant Secretaries of State Dan Rosenblum and Angela Aggeler


Bishkek, September 3 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambaev received Dan Rosenblum, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Central Asia at the U.S. Department of State and Angela Aggeler, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs and Office of the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, the Kyrgyz President's press office reports.

During the meeting the sides discussed the issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the United States, as well as prospects for further cooperation in various fields.

President Atambayev thanked the US delegation for coming to participate in such an important event for the Kyrgyz people, as the opening of a memorial to those who died during the uprising in 1916.

Deputy Assistant Secretaries of State Dan Rosenblum and Angela Aggeler shared their impressions from the participation in the opening ceremony of the Memorial, and thanked the Kyrgyz side for the warm reception and the opportunity to discuss topical issues of bilateral Kyrgyz-American relations.

US Deputy Assistant Secretaries of State will also participate in the opening ceremony of the Second World Nomad Games.

The meeting was also attended by US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Sheila Gwaltney.
