Kyrgyzstan welcomes investments from Hungary

Bishkek, June 1 / Kabar /. During his official visit to Hungary Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Chynybai Tursunbekov met on Friday with Hungarian President Janos Ader.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the current state of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary, and the prospects of further cooperation, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reports.

Tursunbekov, noting the positive aspects of cooperation, stressed the need to deepen them. He also noted that the development of bilateral cooperation with Hungary, including the inter-parliamentary cooperation is a priority.

During the conversation Tursunbekov regretfully stressed that economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is developing slowly, in spite of the existing great potential. "Kyrgyzstan expects enhancing economic ties, business contacts, and the arrival of Hungarian investors. We welcome investments from Hungary, are ready to create the most favorable conditions for Hungarian businesses in Kyrgyzstan, particularly in areas such as transport, communication, agriculture, energy, construction of large, medium and small hydro power plants, as well as in the processing and mining industries," said the Kyrgyz Speaker.

In order to establish economic and trade cooperation, Tursunbekov proposed the Hungarian side to create the Intergovernmental Commission between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary on trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and scientific-technical cooperation. In this light, he assured the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to start the relevant work on this issue.

The parties also discussed the possibility of cooperation in the construction of small and medium-sized hydropower plants.

From his part, the President of Hungary Janos Ader expressed support for the development of trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and scientific-technical direction.

Janos Ader noted that Hungary welcomes the achievements of Kyrgyzstan in building a democratic state.

The Kyrgyz parliamentary delegation visited Hungary at the invitation of the President of the National Assembly of Hungary László Kövér.
