Service manager of the Transit Center at Manas detained for hooliganism

Bishkek, March 11 / Kabar /. Employee of the Transit Center at Manas, U.S. citizen Brandon Cornelius has been detained in Bishkek for hooliganism. 

Yesterday, March 10, 2014 at 19:00 by the decision of the Sverdlovsk regional court of Bishkek against service manager of the TCM Brandon Cornelius a preventive measure has been chosen in the form of detention in jail for 1 month. The press service of Bishkek police reports.

On March 9 the suspect Cornelius Brandon, a U.S. citizen born in 1985 in Monterrey, California assaulted a Kyrgyz police officer on March 9 when police tried to question him about a complaint filed by a local woman.

The woman accused Brandon of trying to force her to have sex for money.

Police said that Brandon was drunk, broke a desk in the police station, and tore the insignia from a police officer's uniform.

Police detained Brandon and informed the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek about the incident. 

A criminal case is filed on the fact under article 234 ( hooliganism ) of the Criminal Code of the KR. 

The Article 234 provides for punishment of imprisonment for a term of 4 to 7 years.
