500 meter alcohol smuggling pipeline discovered on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border

Bishkek, February 18 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz border guards discovered a new pipeline between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan used to smuggle alcohol into the country from neighbouring Kazakhstan.

According to the Kyrgyz Border Service, the 500m long, 20cm wide pipe was dug into the ground on the banks of the Chu River, littered with stones and stretched along the bottom of the Chu River, which forms a border between the two countries.

The State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic jointly with cooperating agencies actively works to curb smuggling activities, including oil and other products across the border.
