Hunger strike in prisons in Kyrgyzstan is connected with resignation of Speaker of the Parliament – head of GSIN

Bishkek, December 14/ Kabar /. According to operative information, hunger strike, which began yesterday in seven colonies and two investigative isolation wards in Kyrgyzstan, is connected with resignation of Speaker of the Parliament Ahmatbek Keldibekov. Chairman of the State Service for Punishment Execution (GSIN) Sheishenbek Baizakov told at a press conference at the Kabar Agency.
He told that a command was given to prisoners by criminal leaders to organize a hunger strike. "The participants of the protest action say the reason of the hunger strike is problems connected with living conditions, feeding, closing and medical care", said Sh. Baizakov.
At present explanatory works are conducting among prisoners, the information about hunger strike is associated with the resignation of the Speaker will be checked.
