Bishkek, October 12 / Kabar /. U.S. supports reforms in the system of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Larry Memmott, deputy Chief of the Mission of the US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan told during the national forum on the concept of reforming the system of internal affairs for 2012-2015.
"We are impressed by the fact that the government of the country is ready to hear opinion of civil society to change the police", he said.
L. Memmott believes that the most important issues in the country are providing justice and security. "Police is responsible for human rights and therefore the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the central organ of Government of any country," said the deputy chief of the mission.
He added that transparency, openness of law enforcement and civilian supervision over them - a crucial task in Kyrgyzstan. "But success can only be achieved if this will be your reforms, but not ours, if you really want to work", L. Memmott said.
