Joint tactical exercise of CSTO Collective Rapid Deployment Forces will be conducted in Kyrgyzstan


The command and staff drill for the Collective Operational Reaction Forces (CORF) and tactical exercises for the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), will be held in Tajikistan on September 19-22, Asia-Plus reports with reference to the CSTO Secretariat.

The purpose of the exercises is to rehearse coordination and interaction in combat with illegal armed formations.

The COFR command and operational groups of military contingents and special units of the interior ministries, security services and emergencies ministries of the CSTO member-countries are formed during the drill.

At the same time, a joint tactical exercise for subunits of the CSTO Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region will be conducted in Kyrgyzstan from September 19 to 22. This exercise is also a part of the strategic exercise, Center-2011. Subunits of armed forces from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan will participate in the exercise in Kyrgyzstan.
