Convict, protesting against the verdict, sewed his mouth - Ombudsman of KR

Bishkek, January 20 / Kabar /. The convict, protesting against the verdict, sewed up his mouth, the press service of the Ombudsman reports.

The Ombudsman received a letter from lawyer Mairambek Jumabekov, who protects the interests of the convicted, who is in custody in jail №1 Bishkek. He requested to redirect the criminal case for consideration in the first instance with a different composition.

It says that the judge of the Leninsky district of Bishkek A. Zhooshbekov at the hearing on November 2, 2015 awarded a sentence in violation of the Code of Criminal Procedure, as the trial was held without participation of the victim.

In addition, lawyer Zhumabekov writes that the victim had never attended the trial and twice wrote cross-application that she has no claims to the convict. Despite this, the judge sentenced the defendant to 14 years in a penal colony.

In protest, the convict, who was placed in jail №1 Bishkek, January 8, 2016 declared a hunger strike, sewing up his mouth, as he categorically did not not recognize his guilt.

It should be noted that the employees of the Institute of the Ombudsman visited twice the jail №1 Bishkek and held a private talk, and gave legal advice to the convict.
