There are fears that terrorists could enter the country using visa-free regime

Bishkek, November 27 / Kabar /. There are fears that terrorists could enter Kyrgyzstan, using the existing visa-free regime with several countries. Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) KR Abdil Segizbaev said today at a coordination meeting of law enforcement, fiscal and other government agencies on combating corruption.

According to him, in 2013, 110 thousand people were registered in 2014 out of 4 million 516 thousand foreign citizens who entered the country, in 2014, 4 million 111 thousand were registered out of 4 million 123 thousand foreigners, for 10 months in 2015, 101 thousand foreigners were registered out of 129 thousand people.

Segizbaev says that these statistics show a very low number of registered foreign nationals in Kyrgyzstan, 2.5% less than of the number of entered foreigners. "At the same time, there is an annual increase of migrants. This reflects negatively on the labor market," he said.

"In the context of current events, threats, strengthening of international terrorist and extremist organizations that are trying to strengthen their positions in the country is of particular concern. There is a visa-free regime with 45 countries. Only for the period of 2014-2015, more than 200 foreigners who are suspected of involvement in the martial conflicts in Syria and Iraq were gon on to special services of Kyrgyzstan.
