Ministry of Health: "Zika virus does not threaten Kyrgyzstan"

Bishkek, March 4 / Kabar /. Zika virus does not threaten Kyrgyzstan, director of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Department of the Ministry of Health Tolo Isakov told today at a press conference in Kabar News Agency.

"Our people cannot worry because the Zika virus, which spreads in the world, does not threaten Kyrgyzstan. It spreads through a mosquito bite, and this type of mosquito is found only in Africa. But, nevertheless, there is a resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, and we are working to prevent this disease," assured Isakov.

He also noted that airports are equipped with special locking devices which record the temperature level of the person at a distance.

Health Minister Talantbek Batyraliev assured that Zika virus is not transmitted in other ways, but only through these insects.
