Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan meets with Pakistani Prime Minister

Bishkek, Jan. 13 / Kabar /. Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev met on January 12 with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the press service of the Ministry of Economy reported.

The official delegation, consisting of representatives of key ministries and departments headed by Minister Kozhoshev, is visiting Islamabad within the framework of participation in the 3rd meeting of the Kyrgyz-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.

Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif welcomed co-chairman of the Kyrgyz part of the Intergovernmental Commission, Minister Kozhoshev and expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting of the Kyrgyz-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission, which, of course, will give impetus to further development of trade and economic relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Sharif praised Kyrgyzstan's support in Pakistan's accession as a full member of the SCO, which confirms the presence of the two countries' brotherly and close relations.

Pakistan's prime minister urged Kyrgyzstan to more actively use the potential of the current project "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor", which is able to provide all the Central Asian countries and Kyrgyzstan the shortest access through Pakistani ports to the open sea.

Conveying warm greetings to the head of the Kyrgyz government, the Prime Minister Sharif expressed the hope in personal participation of President Atambayev in the upcoming ECO Summit to be held in Islamabad on 1 March.

In turn, Kyrgyz Minister of Economy Kozhoshev expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for his personal support in the promotion of bilateral and regional cooperation of Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Arzybek Kozhoshev expressed Kyrgyzstan’s interest in participating in the project "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor", the implementation of which will contribute to the development of regional trade between the Eurasian Economic Space, and South Asia.
