Kyrgyz Minister of Economy: "Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Iran in January-October 2016 increased by 80%"

Bishkek, December 23 / Kabar /. The trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Iran increased by 82.7% in January-October 2016, Economy Minister Arzybek Kozhoshev said today at the Kyrgyz-Iranian business forum in Bishkek.

He said that today's business forum is a platform for exchange of views on further promoting economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Iran, and also to help in establishing business contacts between the business circles of the two countries. Iran has the fourth economy in the Islamic world and the second largest in Western Asia, for Kyrgyzstan it is a significant factor of cooperation.

"To deepen our cooperation the Intergovernmental Commission was established and successfully operates to determine the way of further development of bilateral cooperation in many areas of economy, representing mutual interest. We attach great importance to economic cooperation with Iran. In January-October 2016 the trade between the two countries amounted to US $ 12.3 million, an increase by 82.7%. And I believe that the time has come to make our relationship more meaningful and encourage you to consider the possibility of investing in priority areas, such as tourism, transport logistics, processing of agricultural products," said the minister.
