Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan taking part in the 32nd session of the COMCEC

Bishkek, November 24 / Kabar /. Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev is taking part in the 32nd session of the Standing Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) on 23-24 November 2016 in Istanbul, Turkey, held under the chairmanship of the Turkish President Regep Tayyip Erdogan.

The agenda of the session includes of the issues of further deepening of trade and economic relations between the OIC member countries, issues of implementation of COMCEC Strategy, cooperation in the field of agriculture and food security, tourism, transport, finance, poverty, and other issues.

The Standing Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) was established during the Third Islamic Conference, held in 1981 in Mecca / Taif. The Standing Committee is composed of 57 member states and five observer countries.

COMCEC is the main platform for multilateral trade and economic cooperation between the Islamic world and serves as a key forum for discussing and making decisions on general issues of regional development.

COMCEC holds meetings at ministerial level every year, mostly in October or November, under the chairmanship of President of Turkey.
This year, the 32nd session of the COMCEC is attended by 23 ministers responsible for trade and economic issues of the OIC member countries.
