Chinese experts will train Kyrgyz beekeepers on standards of honey production

Bishkek, November 15 / Kabar /. Chinese experts will tell Kyrgyz beekeepers how to achieve high standards of honey production, head of the department of agriculture, nature management and ecology of the Kyrgyz Government’s Office Almaz Zheenaliev told journalists.

He said that 43 tons of honey were returned to Kyrgyzstan from China three months ago.

After this incident the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Agriculture started working with the company, which exports honey to China, he said.

"We all know that after the collapse of the Soviet Union there appeared small farms not only in crop and livestock productions, but also in beekeeping sphere. There are several associations which negatively affects exports. Because each of them has its own supply channels and requirements. Three months ago China returned 43 tons of honey. After that we started working with a company which exports our honey to China, and asked them to send Chinese experts to conduct trainings and workshops in Kyrgyzstan," he said.

Zheenaliev said that the first stage of training will be held today, where beekeepers talk about antibiotics that are used during processing and honey production.

He also said that except China, the Kyrgyz honey is exported to Arabia and Japan.

"And we plan also to export meat and dairy products to China. Veterinary and phytosanitary control sent Chinese colleagues a letter of invitation to the Kyrgyz Republic for the inspection of Kyrgyz products. We are waiting for a reply," added Zheenaliev.
