Government launches a large-scale awareness campaign on Kyrgyzstan’s joining the Customs Union

 Bishkek, June 3 / Kabar /. In order to inform the public about the conducting policy, the Government announced the beginning of a large-scale campaign on accession of Kyrgyzstan to the Customs Union.

According to the Government’s press service, the aim of this campaign is to inform the public about accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Customs Union, as well as to avoid misinterpretation of the process of joining of the KR to the CU. 

The following activities are planned in the framework of the campaign:

1. Acquaint the population with a "roadmap" for accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Customs Union;

2. Conduct extensive public hearings with the participation of delegates from all regions of the country to clarify questions on the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Customs Union;

3. Create call- center for citizens;

4. Conduct a series of roundtables and conferences with the participation of civil society, including entrepreneurs, business associations, trade unions to discuss the benefits and the "risk" of entering to the CU; 

5. Arrange meetings with activists of regions to explain some issues on joining the CU;

6. Create a series of videos, brochures, handouts, infographic, television and radio programs on the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Customs Union.

The Government asks members of civil society and the media to take active part in a dialogue.
